Ambika Lal’s collection at The Studio during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 would make you wait for what’s Next in her collection, it was captivating and eye-catching.
The designer showcased outfits and garments that were inspired by the ‘Swirling Galaxies in the Milky Way’. Reflecting on the other realms of the vast universe, elements like the sun and moon motifs were used to create flamboyant garments, while the vast multitude of stars in dark skies was beautifully portrayed as embellishments.
The celestial collection brought out the sky gazing, sunrise viewing, star gazing and other universal fantasies walk confidently on the ramp. Deriving a part of her muse from the Russian fashion, fabrics like mesh, satins, and organzas, were seamlessly merged to create the whole look and feel of the galaxies. Embellishments were kept to minimal with exaggerated ruffles, trails, and hemlines, all of these components made the collection come to life. Merging layering with corsets, the designer showcased a range of cocktail dresses with beadwork and sequins embroidery that formed branch-like patterns. From slits in the gown to adding batman like look to the corset, each entry was unique yet cohesive.
The beautiful and attractive Rhea Chakraborty walked in a black, embellished corset with a sweetheart neckline and layered ruffled trail that stole the limelight.
‘Soutache’ by Gaurika Sharma showcased an amazing look, ‘The Way We Were’, at The Studio during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019. The inspiration was derived from the Dutch impressionist painters of the 17th century. The Vintage jackets had floral prints creating a line of mixed bloom paintings for an illusionary experience. The main focus of the line was the vibrant shades and floral motifs. The journey of the early 20th century created and curated by the designer Gaurika Sharma gave a look of luxury and fashion.
Embellishments were inculcated with lavishness along with a range of flowing pleated skirts juxtaposed with hand embroidery, while the printed stripes on shimmer silk, wool, linen, and cashmere, made the silhouettes opulent. The long dresses, smocks, capes, wraps, and saris, created a look that was apt for the coming season. Himanshu Verma, the popular Sari Man walked the runway for the designer in a black kurta teamed with an embellished dupatta draped like a sari and a golden blazer, that set a modern trend. For those with a free spirit and look for fashion at its best, ‘Soutache’ by Gaurika Sharma is the one that has it all.
BANDANA NARULA’S DAZVA AT THE STUDIO DURING LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2019
Bandana Narula presented her collection ‘Dazva’ at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019. It was a beautiful collection encompassing of mesmerizing silhouettes. ‘Dazva’ which means ‘Liberal’ truly brought out stark contrasts in uniting energies and vibes. The main point of the garments were the geometric chevrons and floral patterns delicately handwoven. Lilies and hydrangeas were mesmerizingly teamed with self-hued sequins and Dabka. Providing a range of skirts, chic drapes, playful anarkalis, cropped tops, along with beautiful saris and raglan sleeves, were the perfect fusion of Indo-western appeal.
The silk textures inculcated self-hued sequins, belts were added, to further highlight the scintillating appeal of the line. A tie knot blouse teamed with an organza mauve dupatta, while the chevron pleated, taupe, the skirt was a definite trendsetter. The mint pleated Anarkali with raglan sleeves was a head-turner.
Cheering the great work of the designer and walking the ramp for her was none other than the gorgeous Shibani Dandekar wearing a floral, corset with a chevron design lehenga that gracefully moved from purple to mauve, while the appliquéd flowers around the neckline were stunning.
PINKEY AGARWAL AT THE STUDIO DURING LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2019.
The ‘Purple Feathers’ by designer Pinkey Agarwal, unveiled the collection ‘Mystical Curves’ at The Studio during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019. The collection saw organic drapes along with free-flowing fabrics like crêpe, and crêpe Lycra, these were presented in hues of off-white and ivory to create a range of timeless style and appeal. Form-fitted embellished belts added a touch of pizzazz to the visually stunning garments that were figure-flattering. Asymmetric draped tunics were teamed with belts, while the oxidized embellishments on the silhouettes looked just stunning.
The famous TV actor Adah Sharma turned showstopper in a tube blouse, zardosi embroidered dupatta, and layered skirt, while the gigantic headgear and hot pink wig created a wow factor. With the intention of highlighting every woman’s assets and celebrating her curves, ‘Mystical Curves’ by Pinkey Agarwal brought out a perfect collection on the ramp.
