The Louis Vuitton Fall ’20 Collection, Virgil Abloh In The Clouds
Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton or shortened to LV, is a French fashion house and luxury retail company founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton.
According to sources, the collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, was grounded by some very down-to-earth ideas about footwear.
According to sources, Abloh said. “The collection is about being open-minded and free, even in the constructs of formal menswear. The title of the show is Heaven”
He added, “The spirit of the collection was calm, with a practical focus on exploring the possibilities of the product; the setting was surreal with blue skies and white clouds and a runway populated by gargantuan models of tools used by Louis Vuitton craftsmen.”
In a remarkable edition to new clothing, the designer has now redefined luxury with his inclusive way of fashion — made his collection for Louis Vuitton all about the suit adding a flavor to the latest fashion trends.
According to sources, the designer said, “Now that I’ve sort of made my statement about how I wanted to modernize the brand, this is more in line with speaking to the tradition.”
The collection by the designer was all about boyhood and the newly suited mood offered more inclusiveness from previous collections to the fashion industry. Leather bags and luggage were color-coordinated with the menswear to follow the contours of the body.
Sources also mention that, Abloh said “I decided I’m not shifting gears every season—I saw that as a potential trap before I started. I stand for diversity and the idea that luxury can be something wider in this era. So I’m going to continue down that line, and continue this feeling of the whole freedom of being a child, still learning. I’m changing my pace drastically.”
