The India Couture Week 2019, organized by the Fashion Design Council of India is gravitating the minds of fashion orients and social media accounts. In its 12th edition of fashion extravaganza, where 10 leading and ace designers showcased their latest inspired collection at Taj Palace, New Delhi from 22nd July 2109 – 28th July 2019. In collaboration with Hindustan Times, ICW 2019 has brought DLF Emporio as a luxury partner on board and other partners M.A.C, Swarovski, Visit Monaco, Icons and jewelry partner Archana Aggarwal’s timeless jewelry.
The ace couture designers Falguni and Shane Peacock flashed their collection ‘Bonjour Amer’ on the 5th day at ICW 2019 and the show was in lime lights more because of the presence of Kartik Aryan and Ibrahim Khan. The collection was brimful with all shimmer and shine.
The proclaimed designer couple, Falguni and Shane launched their pret label in 2002. Engulfed with luxury, they are accredited for taking Indian fashion to the Hollywood horizons with their glamorous and quintessential designs. They draw out the fantasy and surreal onto their garments and makes them eccentric. Ardent detailing and contrast highlights them into the fashion world. The designer duo creates pret, bridal wear, resort wear, evening wear for both men and women.
The collection ‘Bonjour Amer’ was inspired by the Amer Fort in the pink city of Jaipur. They exhibited it with the metallic hues and Parisian Princess inspiration with lot of shimmer inculcated into it. Their signature style of use of feathers made them unique and recognizable easily.
Nawabi Royal, Sara Ali Khan debuted at ICW 2019 and closes the show for Falguni and Shane Peacock in an ivory blouse and skirt with a train with silver embellishments that glisten the environment along with open beach-wavy hair and make up kept simplistic. Her signature style of Namaste and Adaab towards the media stole the show. The Simbaa actress looked modern yet amalgamated with luxury and brightness overflowing through the outfit.
Mirroring the set like all silver and metallic, the couple imitated similar silver in their collection. It was an enthralling collection which remunerated the colors of shine. The seamless and unconventional aesthetic was brought under the color palette of ivories, whites, red, metallic and smoke green and blues, with tints of pink and prism silver embroideries highlighting the garments.
The silhouettes combined the saree, drapes, skirts, lehengas, churidars and coats for men with lot of embellishments which embraced the signature use of feathers. The designer couple brings out the repertoire of contrast beautifully on the ramp. The silhouette was inspired from the Victorian bustles which grabbed the attention of all. Inspired from their multiple visits to Jaipur, they present an ode where they showcased the magnanimous glory on the ramp. The whole idea was to play with elaboration done in elegance and in dimensions of grandeur.
