When you hear Christian Louboutin one immediately associates the name with his signature red sole shoes. Known as the king in the shoemaking industry, Louboutin is an extremely celebrated brand world over.
The designer established his business in the heart of Paris in 1991, first with a collection for Women followed by a Men’s collection a few years later, both recognizable by the signature red lacquered sole. With a prolific collection of women’s and men’s shoes, handbags, and small leather goods, Christian Louboutin now counts 164 boutiques around the world.
Earlier this month the designer celebrated the reopening of his boutique in the national capital at DLF Emporio with a special and exclusive shoe-signing event with the designer himself.
Paying a tribute to his very first store that opened in 1991, the store is floored with signature red carpets, red beacon panels, and mirrors that are reminiscent of the Parisian arches and niches. The walls are adorned with wallpaper that imagined a dreamlike jungle populated with exotic plants, tigers, and lemurs climbing trees. Hand-painted by French painter Alexandre Poulaillon it is a tribute to Christian Louboutin’s childhood love for nature. Grand, opulent, and mesmerizing are the only three words that can define the beauty of the store. Characterized by the color red, the store gives a royal and regal appeal.
The guest list was prive to the latest additions from the upcoming Spring Summer 2020 collection. From Bhutan to Egypt, Christian’s passion for travel is showcased through his collections. Following the success of the Paloma tote, the designer revealed his latest creation, Elisa. Italian craftsmanship is combined with French elegance Elisa is available in three different sizes in over 40 variations, this elegant chain bag features the iconic CL logo on its clasp, reimagined especially for Elisa.
When it comes to men, following the successful RED RUNNER which took its cues from the world of running and the AURELIEN inspired by the basketball courts, Christian Louboutin once again returns to the sports arena to create HAPPYRUI. This season, the designer pays tribute to the iconic tennis shoe that made fashion history both on and off courts in the 70s. Although the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly on guests queuing up for the unique opportunity to have their purchase signed by Mr. Louboutin.
DJ Avantika Bakshi took cues and inspiration from the Bhagwad Gita and blended and amped the eclectic vibe. While the brand’s signature red lights accenting transformed the ambiance of the store.
There’s no doubt that the brand shares a legacy from France, a country renowned for its craftsmanship, epicurean traditions, and spirit – making heritage.
