Indian Designer, Masaba Gupta has joined hands with a German multinational company, Puma, to bring out a creative side of the Puma shoes and give designing a new name.
The limited-edition is dropping only fifty pairs of shoes priced at 6999 and is called the “CALLI x MASABA”. In this collaboration, Masaba has used Puma’s ‘The Cali Sneaker’ as her canvas. The artistic twist given to Puma by the designer is available on its official website.
Moreover, all the shoes in the limited edition are hand-painted shoes and are on a white base.
According to sources, Masaba said that apart from the usual sporty way, they look fantastic with a sari or a chikankari kurta.
She also said, “PUMA wanted to re-imagine their iconic shoe so they sent it to me and we put our thoughts together. In a way, the sneaker picked me.”
Recently the Bollywood designer got her hands on the Game of Thrones license and in a collaboration with the series, she launched a limited edition. Soon after that, Masaba Gupta launched her beauty line inclusive of quirky lip shades and nail paints on Nykaa and now the 30- year old designer has decided to launch her own collection of quirkiness with the sports brand, Puma.
According to sources, specifically for this particular range, the designer has used shoes as canvases for self-expression and has introduced two new design concepts that are anti-anxiety and identity.
She has used her signature quirky prints to depict the state of mind of the current generation and the struggles they face.
