Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a Bollywood actress, who has taken her journey of hard work to Hollywood, has launched a new show where she travels around to get inspiration from women at the top. Priyanka is known as a woman of many talents, she has always done things her own way. Her outspoken nature and feminist outlook on life have helped her to break the glass ceiling.
In her recently launched a talk show, “If I Could Tell You Just One Thing” she reaches out to extraordinary women to chat with them about the struggle and hardships they faced in their journey to reach where they are today. The protagonists share their stories and give Priyanka a piece of advice.
If I Could Tell You Just One Thing is based on the book by Richard Reed. Chopra announced the launch of her show in January. The show released its first episode on Wednesday (March 27) exclusively on Chopra’s YouTube channel which is directed by Sally Freeman.
For the first episode, PeeCee interviewed the fashion icon and Belgian designer best known for her iconic wrap dress, Diane Von Furstenberg.
Diane von Fürstenberg, formerly Princess Diane of Fürstenberg is the queen of wrap dresses. She designed the first knitted jersey wrap dress in the year 1974. Currently, Diane is the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), a position that she has been heading since 2006. Soon after marriage, Fürstenberg began designing women's clothes and that was when she started her designing career. She kept moving ahead in her career and soon launched a cosmetic brand and her first fragrance, "Tatiana” which was named after her daughter. The trend of her wrap dress was so popular among women, that in 2009, Michelle Obama wore the DVF signature chain-link print wrap dress on the official White House Christmas card. Her clothing line has been worn by many celebrities including Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Gwyneth Paltrow and many more.
The interview started with a talk at Furstenberg's home, where she opens up about getting married at the age of 22 and balancing work with family. She says that she got married at a very young age and started her career while she was preparing for a baby. She opened up about her short-lived marriage and how she looks at life now.
She spoke to Priyanka about her affairs and how she never regretted them and always remembered them well.
The designer also showed Chopra pictures of the first wrap dress that she made and asked her to try it on, to have her opinion about the dress.
