What do you understand by the word detox in a haircare routine? It generally means having a new start from an old addiction or habit we've been trying to move on from. Your hair attracts several bad bacteria, gunk, and unwanted pollutant layers which harms the scalp and deteriorates the hair quality and texture.
In our day-to-day lives, we use several hair care tips to alter our hair growth, remove dandruff and get rid of problems like hair fall and breakage.
We all know that we have unique fingerprints. Similarly, our hair type might be the same, but every hair condition is different, and it depends upon the person's overall health too. We have no other option but to deal with toxic scalp health no matter what.
Before knowing the importance, let us run through the initial benefit of a hair detox treatment that is exfoliation.
The recent hair care tips mention that exfoliation is a must process. A scalp detox treatment is a method of removing dead skin cells which clog the pores, the dirt, grime, and impurities on the scalp that hamper the growth and strength of the hair.
A regular hair care routine including hair detox can do wonders for your hair
A scalp detox treatment can be expensive if you visit a salon, but you might not know that there are some easy ways to get it done at home too.
1. Make Your ph Balanced Shampoo:
This magical solution has proven to be very beneficial for the hair. For this DIY technique, you'll need-
Mix both the ingredients well in a blender or mixer and keep it in a fridge overnight. When the mix has frozen well on the next day, scoop out a little of the gooey paste and apply it gently on the hair and the scalp. Emulsify the hair strands with your fingers and continue with anticlockwise motions and clockwise motions (alternatively) while massaging the scalp. Repeat this process for a couple of minutes until your arms are tired. Wear a shower cap. Keep the shower cap on for ten minutes to allow the goodness to soak in.
Wash off the hair and the scalp with cold temperature water and then dry gently without a hairdryer. This process should be repeated thrice a week for an oily scalp and if you have other scalp types, twice a week is enough.
2. Honey Always On The Rescue:
Honey is a natural ingredient that is used in several home remedies and skin advancement techniques. Honey contains the best haircare and moisturization properties which provide moisture to the scalp and prevents it from drying. Another hair detox technique is the honey hair mask. DIY them at home with the ingredients below:
Add the preferred oil of your choice to the honey and give it a good mix using your fingers. Do this for a couple of seconds and then let it rest in the fridge for an hour or so. After that take it out of the fridge and then add warm water to this mix. Then mix it with a regular spoon and then let it rest for ten minutes.
Apply the mixture on your hair the same way as you would when shampooing your scalp and hair. Try emulsifying the hair strands and the scalp with clockwise and anticlockwise circulatory motions. The final rinse should be with a cup of rosewater to ward off the honey smell it leaves.
Repeat this process a maximum of four times a week and observe the changes yourself.
3. Cinnamon And Baking Soda Mix:
For this awesome recipe for your hair you would need:
Pour the ingredients in a big mason jar or a jar-type container and give it a good shake for 5 minutes. You'd observe a white fluid-like mixture that is now ready for the hair. Divide your hair into five sections, clipping them up into small hairballs, per section properly to cover all the roots.
