Bollywood holds a plethora of events throughout the year, be it IIFA, Filmfare, Stardust, etc. and each one of these events not only tell us about stars’ achievements in the movie and series business but also, about what stars are wearing and the latest fashion trends for women and men as well.
Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards’ 6th edition was hosted in Mumbai last week on Tuesday and everyone from A-listers to debutants in the Bollywood Industry graced the esteemed event with their presence. Stars like Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Anushka Sharma, Ananya Panday, Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Leone, Diana Penty, Yami Gautam, Rakul Preet Singh, Dia Mirza, Rajkummar Rao, and Varun Dhawan cranked up their fashion game a notch on the red carpet.
Just like every other year, the stars made quite a few bold choices and went for the vogue fashion styles. We are talking about ruffles, sequences, plunging necklines, metallics and what not! Bollywood’s most handsome kept it classic as usual and smoldered us with their killer looks. The ladies kept it suave and chic. The B-Towners made it a glam entry, however, some failed to impress the fashion fanatics.
Here are the 5 looks according to us from the 6th edition of the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards that either makes or breaks this list:
To begin with, Alia Bhatt, who won the Most Stylish Star (Female) Award, turned heads in a pink and black ensemble by Celia Kritharioti. Alia kept the accessories minimal with this off-shoulder gown. When it came to her make-up, she sported rosy cheeks and lips, that complimented the color of the gown. She let her tassels be free in soft curls.
Amyra Dastur, looked like such a dream in this Michael Cinco butterfly gown, we are literally gagging! From the hair to the shoes and the soft light makeup, this is one of our favorite red carpets looks for this event. This dress stars in our dream sequences about an opulent ball, and we can imagine Amyra as Belle in the Beauty and the Beast!
When it came to Malaika, she wore a mirror-adorned gown by Atelier Zuhra. The gown featured a high neck with a bodycon fit and the skirt featured a see-through fabric with mirror motifs. The fact that Malaika looks so uncomfortable in this ensemble should be indicative enough of why it’s so wrong for her body type. The Atelier Zuhra number looks like it’s two different gowns mashed into one. What do you think?
Kiara Advani looked beautiful in a yellow gown by Pankaj & Nidhi. The bodycon gown featured applique design all over. Kiara pulled off this look with minimal accessories. Her look was completed with soft waves. However, it is such a shame when a great sheer gown moment is wasted on improper underwear. We have seen stylists struggle with properly styling sheer paneled gowns, with shapewear always visible when it’s not supposed to be. We’d suggest not wearing a sheer paneled gown if you don’t want to risk the strategic skin show.
Young actress, Ananya Pandey was seen wearing a short leather dress that featured a pink ruffled bodice with elaborate off-shoulder sleeves. With this look, Ananya glammed up her look with glossy lips and gelled-back hair. However, we feel that she needs to get a new stylist. The girl is stunning, with a versatile face and frame. She should not be dressed in a YSL-rip off a dress from I Love Pretty. If not a real YSL, go for a dress that fits correctly, cause that one looks seemingly tight for her.
There are always some that take away the spotlight for good and some who become the talk of the town for days, in a not-so-appreciative way. What do you think is your favorite one out of them all? Tell us in the comments below!
