Brimming with talent and finesse, Rahul Mishra has mastered the slow fashion with traditional Indian textiles. The winner of the International Woolmark Prize, Mishra incorporates the finest handworks in his label. His label also subsumes hand-woven, hand-embroidered and handcrafted techniques with the latest fashion trends at the global level.
The fashion industry at the global level incorporates some of the accomplished names into which Rahul Mishra registered himself with his creative vision. Debuted at Paris Fashion Week in 2014 with an admirable brand that finds credence in the sublime beauty of homegrown fabrics that thrive in the villages of our country, he achieves another milestone while adding his name in the ‘Haute Couture Guest List’.
The ‘Paris Haute Couture Week’ is one of the pristine global platforms which designates the innovative minds to showcase their collection. The Committee of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture decided to choose one such creative mind from our country on November 20, 2019, with other guests including the names like Iris Van Herpen, Georges Hobeika, and Zuhair Murad. This fashion fulsome is going to feature some of the iconic designer houses with exuberant fashion trends like Chanel, Dior, Ellie Saab, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, and Maison Margiela this season. He also enfolded the appreciation from international personalities like the fashion editor of Vogue, Suzy Menkes, an avid follower of his work, addresses him as a “national treasure”. Also, the late Franca Sozzani has praised him as “successfully highlighting the best and the most peculiar features of his homeland”.
Deeply rooted in the Indian fabrics, the designer has been able to gather the applauds for creative liberation through his label by “blurring the lines of fashion, art, and poetry”. He tends to create precise silhouettes depicting the sassy fashion trends. Engulfed with ideas and innovation, he created some of the modern silhouettes drowned into the color palette of white, black, and blush pink. The sheer silhouettes were trimmed into the latest fashion trends like slip dresses, pants, over-sized shirts, capes, and long maxi dresses that were graced with boots, slip-on ankle strap heels, and fringes over the outfit.
With a lot of enthusiasm, the designer is all set to witness the grandiose on the 23rd January 2020 as a guest member at the ‘Paris Haute Couture Calendar 2020’. We all are awaiting the moment of utmost respect and happiness when the unconventional and original will meet the surreal.
