The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019, saw promoting body positivity and inclusivity on its first day. Indian Fashion Designer duo Rixi and Tinka Bhatia showcased how women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful. The models and real curvy women flaunted the collection ' Gulab Bagh' in style. A luxury fashion for curvy women, Gulab Bagh is inspired by the interiors of royal palaces, textures of textiles and patterns of wall arts. Half Full Curve the body positivity collection 'Gulab Bagh' is a fusion of wearable gypsy and urban wear.
An exclusive range of Indian Resort Wear and Traditional Indian Wear, it was adorned with embellishments, surface textures and colour blocking. The sister duo's collection is for the stylish plus size women who are looking for inclusivity in fashion. Outfits in georgettes, silk, dubion, habutai silk and organzas with resham/ thread work, zardozi and sequins were seen on long and short kaftans, kurtas, dresses, cocktail sarees, draped plazzo pants, pre stitched sarees, pleated jackets dhotis, lungi style skirts and much more.
A palette of pink, ecru, navy, hues of green, aqua, olive, teal, maroon and chocolate brown by the fashion designer.
Vineet Rahul, one of the most influential fashion designers showcased his 'Pichwai' collection, that happened to be a visual delight, it was a recreation of the Pichwai paintings on the garments of the talented designers. A well researched study of the Indian arts craft, it was contemporary take of the Pichwai colours from Nathdwara school for handwoven chanderi and silk. The range reflected love, flamboyance, vibrancy and devotion. The collection comprised of bold prints of flowers and birds on tunics, kurtas, trench coats, kimonos, skirts and blouses.
For men's wear the monochrome palette had long jackets with vertical stripes and loose waist belts. The well integrated intricate details of hand crafted embroidery set the mood. The trend setter and most liked were the tassels along the hemlines and the french knots. Layering and use of scarves definitely did steal the viewer's attention.
The designers Vineet Kataria and Rahul Arya were the stars for those buyers who were there for traditional and Indian craft outfits. The show stopper Malvika Mohanan, an Indian film actress known for her performance in Beyond The Clouds and The Great Father walked the ramp in a pair of teal blue flared pants splashed with metallic polka dots and a sexy bralette, with a sheer jacket which closed great and colourful and the very interesting line.
The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019 on this day saw inclusivity, positivity and a vivid collection of the Indian crafts and tradition in a contemporary look and feel.
