Monisha Jaising And Shweta Bachchan Nanda Collaborate To Launch A New Fashion Label

Shweta Bachchan Nanda, the daughter of iconic Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan, steps into the world of fashion by collaborating with designer Monisha Jaising for a new fashion label ‘MXS’. The duo launched their new luxury label on September 1, 2018.  MXS is a new affordable luxury brand designed by the duo for all sizes and ages of women.

The two collaborated on a customized look for Shweta on the occasion of a friend's birthday and the success of the look was such, that the pair decided to collaborate on a full collection - that’s how MXS merchandise was launched.

Shweta, 44, is not an unknown to the world of fashion; she has famously walked ramps and has worked on designs with Jaising. Her collaborator is equally formidable.

Monisha Jaising's designs express luxury in a contemporary, fresh and edgy way. Known as a pioneer of the fashion industry, she believes that Shweta's personal style has always been cool and comfortable. According to Monisha, that’s what made the collaboration easy.

Sharing a picture of the duo on Instagram, Shweta Bachchan expressed her happiness and excitement for the launch of their luxury label. Wherein, Shweta Bachchan adds another feather to her hat, her father Amitabh Bachchan was filled with pride and took to Twitter to announce the label -

“MXS - Luxury Pret Label; born from a partnership between two unique and creative minds, Monisha Jaising and Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Fashion just got fancier. And a father filled with pride,” he tweeted.

The new affordable luxury label is largely inspired by the street style. The first collection was launched on September 1, 2018, and was inspired by Shweta's personal style - casual and comfortable. The collection as a whole is also inspired by pop culture and travel.

The collection ranges from a basic tee (retailing around INR 2,999) to dresses and gowns up to (retailing around INR 80,000). The dresses are on the pricier side, ranging from 10,000 to 80,000 Indian Rupees, however, this isn’t uncommon for luxury labels. The collection comprises a wide range of pieces; jumpsuits, t-shirts, skirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and jackets are all on the menu! The skirts definitely stand out, with the collection featuring skirts for every occasion, from long side-slit pieces to midis with flower patches and glitter.

What makes this apparel fascinating and attractive is its sizes and range. The sizes start from extra small and go up to double excel. Moreover, the clothing line is made for women of all ages. While it’s hard to pull off the execution for such a wide range, SMX is definitely doing a fabulous job.
