R|Elan And Amit Aggarwal End The First Day Of The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019

Day one of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019 ended with a high tech fashion presentation by none other than the couturier Amit Aggarwal.  A futuristic designer he worked with Tarun Tahiliani before starting his own label. He showcases his collections at both national and international levels.

His collection ‘Flux’ showcased at the first day of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019 is made from R|Elan’s FreeFlow fabric by Reliance Industries Limited. Flux is a perfect luxury men’s and women’s wear created from the range of sustainable and performance enhancement fabrics especially created after extensive R&D  by RIL. 

On his association with R|Elan™, designer Amit Aggarwal said, “R|Elan™ is making India into a homegrown space for new age and contemporary textiles. Working with the natural fluidity of the R|Elan™ FreeFlow fabric, paved the way to create the new, modern and fashionable ‘Flux’ collection. The fabric not only enhances the aesthetics of the design through its elegant, fluid drapes but also sparks creative explorations for beautiful, feminine silhouettes.” Flux is a fusion of craftsmanship with sustainability and eco friendly fashion. Being a forerunner in reusing materials, the brand Amit Aggarwal has strived to find new life in ‘discard’ with each of his collections. As India becomes the first nation to recycle 90 per cent of its PET waste, the brand has joined handed with RIL’s R|Elan™ to be a part of this far-reaching movement. 

The collection aimed for luxury men’s wear and women’s wear saw fine draping and 3D Embroidery. His signature of recycled polymer strips was fused with geometrical compositions along with sultry wraps, exaggerated sleeves, powerful shoulders and feminine billowing skirts.  The women’s collection inculcated sheer skirts over body suits, pleated long gowns, draped neo sarees, blazers over draped skirts, midi dresses and halter maxis whereas the men’s wear consisted of battle jackets, one sleeve shirts, over sized trench coats and waist coats with shirts.

The colour palette was vibrant and attractive with bright emerald, petrol, purple, plum, gold, blush, silver and ivory. The collection reflected a perfect futuristic fashion that goes hand in hand with the eco friendly nature and environment. It truly showcased Amit Aggarwal’s expert design techniques, futuristic vision and the unique and well developed fabrics by RIL.

Closing the show was the elegant and idealized Lisa Hayden and walking by her side was Hardik Pandya an Indian International cricketer. Encapsulating the ramp with their charisma Lisa Hayden was seen wearing a draped saree gown with plisse pallav and high slit skirt, Hardik Pandya looked absolutely stunning in a matching purple neo style, long line, jacket with narrow pants and shimmering flaps. There were many other celebrities who had come to cheer the ace designer and the show stoppers including Krunal Pandya (Hardik Pandya’s brother) and Chitrangada Singh an Indian film actress who has majorly worked in Hindi language movies. The show was a visual delight for the audience present there.
