Sabyasachi Mukherjee Donates INR 1.5 Crore To Relief Funds

The ace Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee according to the fashion news, looking at the severity of COVID-19 pledged to donate an amount of INR 1 crore to support the nation in fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Specifications About The Donation 

The latest fashion news states that Sabyasachi decided to donate INR 1 crore of the personal funds to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

The ace Indian fashion designer wrote to his Instagram, the big announcement, stating “ After securing my employees, I am pledging Rs 10 million of personal funds to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF), and an additional Rs 5 million to the Chief Minister of West Bengal’s Relief Fund, with the expectation that the money is used to ramp up medical facilities in the country.”

The fashion news also stated that apart from INR 1 Crore to PMNRF, he would be donating INR 50 Lakh to the Chief Minister of West Bengal’s Relief Fund. The designer was born in a middle-class Bengali family in Kolkata, and this is the reason he holds a special love and concern for the place in particular. 

As stated further, he is not making any charity and doesn’t look for appreciation in this act, he considered this to be his responsibility as a citizen of the country. 

“Let me not mince words, I do not consider this as charity, nor do I seek any kind of praise. Everything we do today combats the massive challenge that we are facing as a nation and as a world. Our investments in today’s efforts will come back to us all exponentially in the future,”

He ended his post, with asking people to support the government in this emergency situation of COVID-19, and stay safe by following the government guidelines- “Stay home, be responsible, give what you can and understand that what we do today will safeguard our tomorrow,”

According to the fashion news, the Indian fashion designer earlier announced a medical fund of INR 1.5 crore to support her team who do not have medical insurance to prepare for medical emergencies arising from the outbreak of coronavirus.
