Tahweave by Sweta Tantia showcased an unconventional presentation of aesthetics at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/ Festive 2019. Her collection named after a mermaid who had an irresistible charm and with confidence and grace she wandered around the streets of Morocco with her beloved ‘Aisha Kandisha’, is influenced by the bohemian architecture.

The line consisted of style, glamour, energy and enthusiasm. The collection was seen reviving the age old craft of screen printing and hand weaves. Using discreet stripes and checks, with hints of Jamdaani detailing, the silhouettes spoke of a raw bold, yet chic look.

Tahweaves that speaks of sustainability and ethical fashion has been worn by many celebrities like Kalki Koechlin, Diya Mirza, Raveena Tandon, Karishma Kapoor and many others. A brand orientation aimed and weaved for those who are simple and traditional Tahweave by Sweta Tantia is a perfect solution for those looking for stylish sustainable clothing.

Tailored deconstruction was the highlight of the range, while the iconic tie and dye was the cynosure of attraction. Bringing out an indomitable spirit, the models sashayed down the runway in a blend of bright mixed achromatic colours. Staple blue midnight was teamed with Fall-essential burnt orange, while the subtle hot pink gave the collection an over-the-top appeal and a marked Moroccan vibe. The coordinated set of a pussy bow cropped top and midi skirt, stood out due to it’s all over multicoloured checks. A head turner was the interesting combination of a placement embroidered, blue, organza shirt layered with a light blue striped dress. Thick checked stockings made an appearance under several garments. Playfully braided pigtails added to the bohemian feel of the collection. The models swayed down the runway having fun during the finale and ended up posing to enable the audience to view them from different angles.
