Tamana, a non- profit organization registered in 1984 is recognized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, Department of Social Welfare; Govt. of NCT Delhi and is registered with the National Trust, working for a cause of helping and empowering the mentally challenged, multiply disabled and autistic, Tamana has done exceptional work.
On the 8th of September, 2019 Tamana along with FDCI organized its annual fashion show ‘ My India My Pride’ that truly stands for inclusivity in fashion. Renowned designers like Anju Modi, Amit Aggarwal, Asha Gautam, Reynu Taandon, Samant Chauhan, Nitin Bal Chauhan, and Payal Jain showcased walking proudly with the Tamana family.
The honorable chief guest of the show Ms. Shakuntla D. Gamlin Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, addressed the audience and the Tamana Family appreciating the initiatives of both Tamana and the FDCI. With the presence of the President of FDCI, Sunil Sethi, Dr. Shayama Chona, Founder and President, Tamana and many other renowned and well-recognized entities the show started with a performance by Diwakar of Sa Re Ga Ma Little Champs.
Apart from the renowned designers, many others showcased their creativity walking along with the kids who were wearing their garments swaying and waving on the ramp with big smiles and happy faces. Schools that support, uplift and educate the differently-abled like Indus Valley International, DPS Mathura Road also walked with the school students wearing the designer’s garments.
The platform saw inclusivity in fashion at its best and spread a great message on humanity, fashion and most importantly India’s initiatives towards the differently-abled and fashion inclusivity.
