The artistic and glorious India Fashion Week has already commenced with a new theme this time, #MyFashionMyTribe which describes fashion-at-table for all. The Fashion Design Council of India presented the 32nd edition of Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week, in association with EbixCash Spring-Summer 20.
The competent designers Nithya Reddy, Nidhika Sharma, Rahul and Anushka and Mahima Mahajan showcased their scintillating collection at India Fashion Week which incorporated the latest fashion trends of styles and colors. The whole ensemble was reminiscent to nature and its beautiful elements.
The collection ‘Fiora Tales’ by Nithya Reddy was inspired by the beautiful floral walls of the vintage French houses. The designer’s love and inspiration for nature kept all her assortments creatively fresh and inimitable. It crafted the outfits with jute and handloom fabrics carved out with embossed embroidery and motifs depicting nature. Staying true to her essence, her latest collection personified nature and its colorful elements. The flowy and asymmetrical silhouettes like high waist long dresses, mid length maxi dresses, crop tops, jackets, capes,tiered skirts and loose pants over the fabrics like organza and sheer made her collection very creative.
The latest fashion trend of layering was done with the soft colors incorporating the shades of pink, yellow, mint blue, ivory, white and dull deep purple embossed with contrasting thread embroideries. Make up was limited which complemented the whole attire.
The collection ‘Red Phase’ by Nidhika Shekhar was inspired by the woman’s menstrual cycle journey and aimed to encourage ‘women who have been period shamed in the past’. The white and red collection was alluring and enlightening which incorporated the latest fashion trends. The asymmetry over the layering silhouettes like long coats, long maxi dresses, pants, skirts and voluminous sleeves in white and red combination did the justice to her inspiration.
The layered neck pieces and golden bracelets charmed the whole look. The polka dots were printed on the fabrics like cotton, organza and cotton silk. Neha Dhupia, actress walked the ramp for Nidhika Shekhar in an all red mid length dress and long red coat with sleek hair and black heels.
The collection proposed by Rahul and Anushka was inspired by ‘janai, Amba and Jagdamba- Story of Kargha to Kamyabi’. The empowered woman full of compassion and unflinching attitude was the inspiration behind the whole idea. The whole collection explored the new woman with traditional styles of sarees, angrakhas, layered kurtas and tie up pants using handloom fabrics.
The collection was dyed in the earthy tones of yellow and green, black, red contrasted with silver Banarasi like borders and was accessorized with typical round ‘bindis’. Activist and politician, Shazia Llmi walked the ramp in black and silver bordered saree with a ‘mangtika’ over the head.
The collection ‘Miroir’ by Mahima Mahajan was all about the fresh silhouettes bringing balance between fluidity and structure. The whole idea was to represent the western silhouettes adhering the pop color palette with kaleidoscopic mirror and sequin embroidery. She kept her essence alive by giving a floral touch to all her garments. The latest fashion trend of pants, flowy dresses, skirts, crop tops, short jackets were minted on the colors like soft pink, ivory, gold and magenta.
The whole idea was to work with sequins and pop color shimmer tints. The pop color stilettos highlighted the perfect contrast to the ensembles. Athiya Shetty, actress walked in a blue embellished sequin crop top and a floral skirt with statement diamond necklace and open hair. She looked attractive and rejuvenated. The whole floral and glittered outfits turned the atmosphere into a new fresh and lively place.
