Recently, Vogue celebrated the third edition of Vogue Women Of The Year Awards 2019, saluting all the boss babes out there for their impeccable work. Today the world if lead by strong and influential women not only in the corporate world but also in sports, fashion, beauty and all other spheres.
Last weekend some of the most outstanding women and men attended the Vogue Women Of The Year Awards 2019. The halls of Grand Hyatt, Mumbai witnessed one of the starriest nights with a high glam quotient. The event was a star-studded affair from A-list designers like Sabyasachi, Falguni and Shane to Bollywood’s best like Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and some international influencers like Huda Kattan and Winnie Harlow, graced the red carpet.
Not only was it a star-studded affair it was also a fashion paradise, from shimmery gowns to sizzling hot gowns in fiery reds the celebrities dialed up the sexy quotient. Each star served us a statement-making look, and we can’t pick one favorite. We’ve rounded up a list of some of the best-dressed celebs at the event, and we can’t stop drooling over their gorgeous ensembles.
Ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee kept it simple in a white kurta set with a black Nehru jacket and leather shoes. A monochrome color combination is one you can never go wrong with at a red carpet event. Suave, sophisticated and extremely dapper perfectly defined Sabyasachi’s look.
Huda Kattan, the god of all things beauty graced the red carpet in a black sheer gown. The influencer of the year, Huda’s gown was embellished with stars proving that she truly shines bright. Smokey eyes and a high pony completed her look making her the true beauty god.
Dutee Chand, sportsperson of the year, made heads turn as she donned a green sequins Namrata Joshipura pantsuit. A true boss woman, she chose to wear a ruffled black top that added oomph to her look leaving the crowd awe-struck. Her hair was pulled back in a bun and bright red lips finished off the look.
Katrina Kaif gave the balloon skirt a new spin as she donned an Ashi studio, a red gown that had a gorgeous trail and some volume. Leaving her tresses open, she accessorized the look with ruby earrings and a ring. The asymmetrical hemline and the bow at the back added oomph to the outfit making it super glamorous.
Known for his eclectic sense of fashion, Ranveer Singh opted for a fiery red pantsuit and stole the spotlight. To complement the color tone he opted for a green tie, brown and black shoes, and a beret. The sunnies and walking stick added a vintage touch to his overall look. Surrounded by strong women, Ranveer won the man of the year award.
They’re known for their over the top embellishments and ruffles, designers, Falguni and Shane Peacock brought their fashion sense to the red carpet. Falguni showed us how to ace the denim look on the red carpet as she donned denim dressed with ruffles. To add a pop of color, she accessorized her look with red lips and a bright red bag. Shane kept it simple and chic in a black suit.
Classy, suave and dapper. Three words that defined Manish Malhotra’s red carpet look. The designer chose a classic suit but added a fun element with a scarf. All men take note, cause a scarf can do wonders to your basic suit.!
Janhvi Kapoor ditched the classic black gown and opted for a fiery red dress designed by Lebanese designer Basil Soda. With a plunging neckline and stated making knotted details her gown was anything but boring.
The cinched waistline accentuates her curves and the asymmetrical hemline turned up the drama. She accessorized her look with rings and went with a high ponytail, and for her makeup look, she chose red lips that perfectly matched her gown.
Natasha Poonawalla wore a voluminous ruffled pink Giambattista Valli dress with black gloves. Chic and sophisticated she kept her makeup minimal and her loosely curled hair was left open adding to her natural beauty.
Soon to-be-mom, Kalki Koechlin showed off her baby bump in a multi-colored all over sequins ensemble. With a natural glow, Kalki kept her make-up minimal.
Quirky and fashion-forward as always, Karan Johar paired a black and gold Issey Miyake set with chunky black boots. Giving stripes a contemporary upgrade, he further accessorized the look with a pair of black glasses and we loved it!
Dia Mirza is known for her elegant and minimalistic style, and this time was no different. She opted for a pink Elisabetta Franchi dress for the event. An off-shoulder gown cinched at the waist complimented her hourglass figure perfectly. Poker straight hair and a bright lip color completed the look perfectly.
Canadian model Winnie Harlow graced the red carpet in a shimmery gown by Julien Macdonald featuring exaggerated shoulders. Power shoulders make a great symbol for this boss babe who bagged the award as the Global Changemaker.
Ananya Panday, who made her Bollywood debut this year with Student of the Year 2, bagged the Youth Influencer of the Year award. Keeping it minimal, she opted for a nude body-hugging dress with black threadwork and a long sheer trail. She truly made everyone stop and stare. To add color, she opted for bright red lips and a half pony to complete the look.
Anaita Shroff Adjania knows the art of fashion is a stylist she brought her most fashionable foot forward. It dialed up the sexy quotient as she dazzled and sizzled in a maroon sequins Micheal Costello gown featuring a thigh-high slit and plunging neckline. Super glamorous, all eyes were on her. She opted for minimal makeup and accessorizes to ensure her dress garnered all the eyeballs.
A black gown and ruffles never disappoint on the red carpet. Radhika Apte turned up the drama, as she looked stunning in this Dundas number. Featuring an asymmetrical hemline and a long trail, she chose to keep the focus on her outfit. She glammed up her look with a high bun and red lips.
